Funding Opportunities
Funding special projects
We always appreciate monetary donations in addition to our membership dues. Since we are a 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law. If you have an interest in supporting a particular historical project, we’d like to talk to you. Please email us or give us a call at 626-797-8016.
IRA qualified charitable distribution
If you are 70½ or older, you may give up to $100,000 a year directly from your IRA to qualified charities without paying income taxes on the qualified charitable distribution. A tax advisor can help you determine when you’re eligible to take required minimum distributions.
Remember AHS in Your Estate Planning
You can leave money or valuable property to the Altadena Historical Society to help us continue our important work. A gift to AHS is not subject to state or federal estate or inheritance taxes. The value of the bequest is deductible for estate tax purposes, and there is no limit on the amount of the deduction.
A will is essential if you wish to make a gift to AHS through your estate. Consult an attorney whether making a will for the first time or revising an existing one. If you include AHS in your estate plans, please let us know! We’ll be able to plan for the future and you’ll have peace of mind knowing that AHS will carry out your wishes.
Donations in any amount are put to good use!
Your donation—in any amount—supports our work in the form of quarterly lectures, collection archives, exhibits, research, publishing, community outreach and more. Donations to AHS are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You can donate online through our Square Store.
Prefer to write a check? Please make it payable to Altadena Historical Society and mail it to: Altadena Historical Society, 730 E. Altadena Drive, Altadena CA 91001-2351.
