Sharing the History of Our Community
Our publications include books, a regular newsletter for members, and research articles written for the Historical Society:
The Altadena Historical Society publishes The Echo, a twice-yearly newsletter that highlights upcoming programs, articles of local historical interest, donations to the archives, research requests and society activities. Download PDFs of past issues.
Stories from Our Collections
The Altadena Historical Society has researched a variety of topics over the years and assembled the information in a series called “From Our Collections.”
Recognizing that the voices of marginalized communities (including Black, indigenous, Asian, and Latino) are often silent, AHS partnered with the Altadena Library and the Altadena Town Council to host Hidden Histories. These live events featured local community members telling their own stories about life in Altadena. Visit the Library’s page to listen to the recordings and learn more.
Over the years, we have published several books and plan to continue doing so. Not all of these are still in print, but we have copies of them all in our archives for you to read while on-site.
We main the AHS blog as well as well as Timothy Rutt’s blog [TITLE].
