Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Altadena Historical Society.

Together they research, add to and maintain electronic and paper files about Altadena people, organizations and events. The collection includes a vast array of historical material: photographs, maps, oral histories, newspapers, books, letters and artifacts. One volunteer commented how fascinating it is to see artifacts and find out information after being a resident of Altadena for more than 60 years!

While working with incoming material donated to AHS, volunteers learn more about Altadena’s history in a professional, congenial environment. The Historical Society’s archives is a great place to make friends and share interests while learning about Altadena.

Volunteer’s interests are matched with our projects as well as their skills and knowledge. Training sessions are held twice a year. Volunteers also enjoy special field trips to local historical sites. Cal Tech in Pasadena and the Lanterman House in La Canada have been field trips in the past.

To volunteer, contact us by phone or email, or fill out the request form and mail it to us.
