The Altadena Historical Society is proud of its 70-year history. Since its inception in 1935, the Society has strived to gather, preserve and make available information about people, places and events in Altadena. The Society is a non-profit organization and one of the oldest volunteer groups in the community.
The quarterly newsletter, The Echo, highlights upcoming program topics, articles of local historical interest, archival donations, research requests and society activities. One of the benefits of membership is the newsletter. AHS also hosts quarterly informational programs for members and the public at the Altadena Community Center.
AHS volunteers regularly provide historical presentations to youth, senior and school groups to promote interest in Altadena's history. Volunteers work together to make information of Altadena’s history available to the public by receiving walk-in requests, emails and letters which come from around the world.
